Welcome and thank you for your decision to adopt one ( or more ) of our beautiful, sweet dogs and for your interest in our mission of giving a second chance for a happy life of belonging to so many unique and perfect dogs who might otherwise been left behind in scary high kill shelters! For the LOVE of DOGS is a small, hands on organization specializing in taking extra time & care in getting to know each one of our dogs, inside and out, then helping them find their purpose and place in the world! We are a tiny division of SPCA of Westchester and work closely with them to provide the best care and opportunity for each and every dog we rescue together. We specialize in taking dogs that might require more time and attention before they are ready to find their forever homes.
We are very grateful to people like you who so generously open your hearts and home to rescued dogs in need. A great many of you have felt drawn to help a dog with special needs.. an older dog, a dog with medical needs and some that require more patience time and understanding. We are truly awed by the kindness of our wonderful adopters!! We surely could not do what we do with out you! Over the last 5 years we have rescued and found loving homes for hundreds & hundreds of dogs. Many of their adoptive families keep in touch with us by sending us updates with the most fantastic happily-ever-after stories, photos and videos!! Dogs tend to bring out the best in people & by creating these amazing circles of love and goodwill we honor in a tremendously rewarding way the awesome gift of DOGS..
LOVE DOGS Dogs...
A GREAT BIG THANK YOU Goes out to the Weurth Family for their incredible LOVE for DOGS and for actually getting out there with their dogs Tau and Hailey to spread the word about rescue and adoption while raising funds to support the cause! !!!! Our lucky Hailey was adopted by the Weurths and has had the GREATEST HAPPIEST most JOYFUL life a dog could want! We get regular and absolutely DELIGHTFUL updates with photos and hilarious videos about Hailey and her fabulous life! She and her best friend Tau helped Abby Weurth and her friend Olivia sell handmade loop jewelry on their vacation to raise money for our rescue! They were a huge success! They took in so many orders that they were up all night filling them! We are so grateful to the Weurth Family and especially Abby, Olivia, Tau and Hailey for working so hard to help our work!!
