Welcome.. and thank you for your decision to adopt one ( or more ) of our beautiful, sweet dogs and for your interest in our mission of giving a second chance for a happy life of belonging to so many unique and perfect dogs who might otherwise been left behind to perish! For the LOVE of DOGS is a small, hands on organization specializing in rescuing dogs that are often overlooked.. some of whom may require a little extra attention and time.. we help them find their way back home to who they are teach them trust, respect ..basic commands .. how to walk on a leash and do so in a group of dogs .. We learn so much about each and every dog in our care.. we listen to them and envision the life and home they'd be happiest and be their best in & then we help them find their purpose and place in the world!
Whats new at LOVE DOGS..
FOSTER AT THE FARM PROGRAM!
A SPECIAL offer for SPECIAL dogs And SPECIAL adopters!!
We want all our dogs and the families that adopt them to live long happy lives together. Sometimes we know that certain dogs can only continue to bloom in a special environment such as a home of their own.. with family members that can guide them to a more peaceful and relaxed response to new experiences. We want to do all we can to help facilitate such magical relationships and so are instituting a foster/adoption program for dogs with the need for additional support. We know all our dogs very well and work with professional trainers and vets to help them enjoy their new lives! So we are offering a FREE program of training and behavior coaching including vet/behaviorist consultation to help you help these special dogs! Here are a few to consider!
Elle is a fabulous, loving, playful, happy eager to please loyal hunny bunny.. but the one reason she is not in her forever home yet is she has "stranger danger"... She has improved incredibly and can go out for walks and stay entirely focused on her job and handler! Elle will likely always have a touch of fear when meeting new people.. she can improve but requires a person who enjoys learning and helping a dog to over come counterproductive coping styles! We offer Elles new family a special training follow up program free of charge. Her program will last her life and be based on her progress and the needs of her family! Check out her web page for more info, photos, videos & Speak to us if you are interested!
Browney is another WONDERFUL dog with the "stranger danger " affliction.. he came to us scared out of his wits.. but in a very short time.. fell in love with everyone.. all the dogs and every human he met, spent a few minutes with and either played with or got treats from... Browney is a dear boy .. for sure a little "touched" in his brain but wants so much to belong and is an affectionate, well mannered dog who is wired tight but takes great comfort in the routines of daily life and the happy outlet of play time and pack walks and cuddly affection! With those he knows Brown is a sweet and happy boy.. to new people he seems worried and stressed.. but he is HAPPY and loves his life most of the time.. its just that NEW part of things he has a hard time with!
Harriet is another dog who experiences a fear response to new people.. BUT has gotten so much better!!! She is best mates with Browney.. THEY LOVE each other very much!! We dont let them live together as we once did because they started to stregthen each others defensive behavior toward new people!! Harriet is a happy loving.. easily trained.. crazy adorable young dog.. she just needs more help!!! Shes ready to be adopted into the right home so she can continue to improve her social skills. Harriet adores ALL dogs and greets them with a bouncing joyous play bow!!
Let us know if you are interested in signing up for a SPECIAL project either as a foster at the farm or through adoption. We will make sure you are well matched and that the program we create with you will give you and your special dog THE BEST chance for continuing SUCCESS!!
