The Love Dogs Team
Jamie's canine career started in high school when she began her dog walking business. This gave her the experience and confidence in handling dogs of all temperaments and sizes as well as developing close relationships with people within the community. In 2009, she enrolled in Anthony Jerone's School of Dog Training and attained her New York State Dog Training Certification. Jamie completed over 400 dog training hours under the supervision of renowned dog trainer Anthony Jerone and graduated with a perfect score on all quizes and final exam.
For over 8 years Jamie has been working with dogs and their owners (doing private training and group classes) all over Westchester County to help create a peaceful environment for the whole family. Her methods are wide verse and vary from dog to dog. Not every dog learns, thinks or feels the same so by sticking with one training method across the board you can actually do more harm then good. All of Jamie's different methods consist of positive reinforcement, boundaries and a deep understanding of canine behavior and psychology.
Now Jamie's main focus is working with rescue dogs, private in home training and helping to place shelter dogs with veterans with Pet for Vets. We are so happy to have dog trainer Jamie as manager and dog trainer at For the Love of Dogs!
I, Ariana, started working at "For the LOVE of DOGS Rescue" in September 2015. Ever since I can remember I have LOVED animals! I always had them in my home.. cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, snakes, hamsters & guinea pigs! There was never a time in my life that I havent enjoyed the company of animals. I've always watched Nat Geo Wild and enjoyed learning how animals live in their natural habitat.. my dream has always been to follow a wild totally free animal for a time and document my observations. I've brought home strays and volunteered at the local animal shelter. My love for animals increased as my time with them increased.. its my passion to be able to provide a second chance to animals and do a great job of it because I've learned so much about each one!
Working at LOVE DOGS I am able to do just that and I can honestly say that each dog that comes through here has a special place in my heart!
The most rewarding part of rescue work is gaining trust and respect and a love connection with every dog. Sometimes its fun and easy and other times it requires a great deal of patience and understanding before they let you in their heart but I always feel the love that is there. Watching the dogs as they leave to go to their forever homes is sweetened by the knowledge that I played an important part in making a difference in their lives.
I want to thank everyone who takes the time to ADOPT a rescued dog and provides the forever home they love and deserve. :)
Sade' joined For the LOVE of DOGS Rescue family as an administrative assistant in the late summer of 2015. She has been a great asset to our organization and to the animals as well. Sade' LOVES working with animals and is very caring, calming and nurturing. She makes everyone, two legged and four feel welcome, loved and happy!! Sade' has a very special ability to connect with animals.. her energy comes right from the heart!
Sade's favorite part of the day is interacting with adopters and helping them discover the magic of a great match which goes so far deeper than appearance, breed(s) & similarity to a dog they had.
In her free time Sade' loves to travel (although she is always working.. answering gmail & processing applications on the go!) Sade"enjoys horseback riding & she is great at capturing cell phone photos (very often of herself with a dog or 2.. or 3!!!) and enjoys sharing those special moments with everyone.
Sade' is lucky enough to have a beautiful family and she loves spending time with all of them.. even her "LOVE DOGS "family"! Sade' has two amazing Shih Tzu's that she adores named CoCo and Socrates.
Michelle is a mother of three and a "pet parent" to six!
She grew up taking care of rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, fish, cats and of course...DOGS!
Before joining the LOVE DOGS staff Michelle hadn't had an opportunity to fully satisfy her innate passion for animals! But now everyday is a dream for her and all the lucky people and dogs she works with! We call Michelle "Mama- Michelle" because of her loving, nurturing, wise energy and natural leadership skills (which are more like those of the pied piper than anything else..) everyone ( people & dogs) gleefully follows along after her happy direction!
We are extremely lucky and grateful that Michelle joined our team.. she has beautifully filled a space thats changed everyone and everything for the better!
