What a SPUNKY, funny, ENTERTAINING CHARACTER this little guy is!! When Nike first got off the van he was a little bit aloof & had this sort of – been there, done that, you seem nice – but how long are YOU gonna stick around for…..kinda attitude…. held nothing against us, but didn’t feel he could quite open up and had only himself to rely on…. he didn’t want to become too attached only to be hurt again (it’s not easy being older and having to keep opening up & being vulnerable to people, only to have them move-on…only to wind up all by your lonesome again…. ) BUT….we started showing Nike that we were here to help him! That we would NEVER leave him! And that WE WERE GOING TO HELP HIM FIND HIS FOREVER HOME and that we were confident the RIGHT HOME is searching for him, just as he is for them! And SURE ENOUGH……he’s started to open up and reveal his true LOVABLE SOUL! :oD
He LOVES to go for his morning & afternoon walks – getting out of his comfy bed and coming right over, jumping lightly with his two front paws to help us out in getting the leash on….as soon as we get outside he makes sure to relieve himself (it’s not easy holding your bladder for so long sometimes!) – and then he starts spritely prancing down the driveway, enjoying the fresh air & getting those joints moving again :o) He comes over for another quick ‘good morning friend’ and away we go! He LOVES to explore in the GRASS & greet his friends on the walk…. he currently lives on a horse farm…heaven or what?!? – and has a few rounds to make as we walk along saying hello to his some-what larger then he, 4-legged horse friends :o) …he has no fear, & loves to give (& get) a quick little nose nuzzle :o)
This morning when we got back from our walk, he & Sol were out of their kennels for a bit while I cleaned up & organized everything – and they were having a GREAT time exploring all around! They were both polite & respectful of each other, & of course were always interested in seeing what the other had found :o) Nike wasn’t too interested in getting rough or playing (you reach an age sometimes when that sorta stuff isn’t as much fun as it use to be) – but Sol was very understanding & perfectly happy to just explore & be together :o)
Afterwards – he looks forward to feeding time….and then he gets all nestled-in in his bed (under the covers of course! Can’t let the cool air or light in when you’re trying to get as snug as a bug in a rug!...)….when we come back later, it is the CUTEST MOST ADORABLE thing to see him tossing his head under the fluffy blankets, trying to move them outta the way & find the hole to poke his nose out of so that he may emerge to come & say HELLO again :o)
Don’t let his age discourage you from coming out to meet this little guy! Nike has LOTS of LIFE & Love to give….he just wants to know that after all this time having to rely on himself to get through the day – that he can count on his new forever friend to share in the memories….after all…isn’t that what we’re all searching for…. :o)

Kids: _Yes, LOVES to be Loved on! He's an older guy, so not an over player - but he LOVES to investigate whats going on with his pack, a great snugger (he loves being wrapped up under the blankets all bundled like a bug in a rug).
Other Dogs: _Great with other dogs. He doesn't run around & play chase or anything, but he enjoys their company
