Dogs that have self confidence

Confident dogs generally come into the world that way. They are wired to be adventurous, curious and some might say, brave.  Many bold and confident dogs are easily engaged! Conversely if you're boring they easily be distracted. DONT BE BORING!
The Social Butterflies can fall into this category. They tend to be jolly sorts! They are the get along types that seek and enjoy socializing! For some its every dog and human.. others its every dog but less so humans and others yet its humans but not so keen with other dogs! They tend to be attention seekers, crave connection, contact, interaction. The butterflies are generally gregarious dogs.

Ben
1-2 years old 41 lbs
Ben arrived as a very peaceful,  observant and calm dog. One might think of him asindependent than confident.  Initially he shied away from certain things. As he has settled in here we are seeing a more naturally confident dog. He doesn't engage in emotionally charged dramas!!! He is still a chill guy with clear communication skills... not interested in power struggles but sure enjoys a good romp and belly rub!!!

Dogs that are sensitive

Sensitive dogs are just wired to be diligent about unfamiliar things..  life often reinforces their cautious responses because their more subtle signals of requesting distance and their signs of concern are not noticed early on, if at all .. they see, feel and experience things long before most even notice.. they may cautious and reluctant to move toward anything new and unfamiliar..  people, places, sounds.. Some try to "disappear", some attempt to keep distance by putting out I am fierce signals often interpreted as aggression. Others just take off!  Many  sensitive types very much enjoy the comfort and safety of other other dogs.

Dogs of a Particular Sort..

These are dogs that have developed successful relationships with people, other dogs and the environment they live in here at the farm.. We believe there might be uniquely suited homes out there for these dogs.. though we are madly in love and attached to them. So we don't quite think of them as FOREVER Homies..

For the Love of Dogs "Homies"

Our Love Dogs "Homies"! All of these dogs have been on an unique journey since arriving here at Love Dogs.. each a little different then the other but resulting in the same.. they are not the easiest to adopt into your average pet dog home.  Each of them has positively challenged us while we guide them, learn more about their behaviors and work to keep their lives happy and fulfilled. We call them the "Homies" because this is their home, for now.. very much like a sanctuary! Each of them have a bundle of unique qualities that narrows down their adopter pool. In truth, many people could successfully adopt one of our fabulous "Homies", but they do require a certain level of understanding and management. After you peel back a few layers, they show their true affectionate, loyal and happy selves! In the meantime, Love Dogs will be their home for as long as they need!
