We just can't get enough of this sparkle eyed, darling girl <3. Happy, loving lady Celia has a precious personality to match those gorgeous, soft locks and pretty smile of hers! When Celia first came off the van, she was eager to explore her new digs yet appropriately cautious. She followed closely behind her brother Apollo for comfort as we walked along the property.. her nose to the ground and tail a little low while she gathered her bearings. It didn't take long for Celia to get comfortable with her new surroundings, though, and learn to adore all of the handlers at Love Dogs that are, of course, very new to her!
Celia has this flowy, mindful way about her... although she was reserved when she first got here, we really haven't seen that nervous side of her stick around all too much! She quickly bloomed into this wiggly, kissie ball of fluff! Her first steps into the house(where she is currently staying) were worrisome for her.. she took a few steps forward, a few steps backward while trying to figure out the best way to approach this new obstacle.. then suddenly POOF she hopped through! After that, she did it again and again with ease like she had been living here her whole life! When she is impatient, she may even scratch the bottom of the door giving us a hint that she might have been owned and in someone's home before finding herself at the southern shelter.
Celia is incredibly affectionate! When meeting someone new, she might hang back a few feet while she assesses the scene.. once this person gets on her level and talks sweet to her, Celia will come right up for some kisses with her tail wagging a mile a minute! When it's time to go on her walks, she can hardly contain herself! As we enter her room, her whole body wiggles with excitement and she sometimes throws her head back and howls!! Like a greeting call! On her walks, Celia beams with courage as she confidently explores all around.
This dreamy girl is active but not hyper. We imagine she can fit nicely into many different types of lifestyles so long as her comfort level is understood and made a priority.
**Celia is currently heartworm positive and will be going through heartworm treatment in the upcoming months. We are looking for a calm foster or foster to adopt home for her while she goes through treatment. Although she adores her brother, we do not believe they are a bonded pair! They can go to separate homes.

Handler Michelle's experience with Celia! - "Today I had the pleasure of spending time with Apollo and Celia. These beautiful siblings are new to us here at Love Dogs so I had to take the time to introduce myself to them. Apollo was quick to warm up to me. He was curious and playful all while licking my face and pushing into me for more petting. His sister Celia was shy at first so I sat on the floor to give her time to warm up to me. I thought if I laid on the floor Celia may feel more comfortable. As soon as I lowered myself to the floor, Celia approached me with a bouncy playfulness. She laid by my side and began to give me the most gentle doggie kisses. While Celia and I shared a special moment, Apollo took this opportunity to push between us and lay his head directly on my face! I found this to be a sweet gesture and I laid back down and he did it again! These two wonderful pups gave me one of the most joyful afternoons. I am so thankful that they joined our rescue while waiting for their forever homes."
