We thoroughly enjoy the great gift of having the time, the curiosity, the passion and ability to REALLY learn about DOGS.. and its all good news!
Why Animals and Nature
Today was an unexpectedly cold and damp, it was a windy and overcast day in January, traditionally and almost reliably sad time of year for me. The weather forecast promised sunshine and warm temperatures making the dark, cold day ever more dark. My heart felt heavy and full with a sense of loss and some free floating anxiety about days that lay ahead... I'd been my most reliable cures for what ails.. being in nature, with animals and sensing that lovely and profound connection they have to what matters most. HERE
Then, in a moment of quiet.. an awareness came through me.. there I was on the side of a hill .. so peaceful.. like when fresh snow falls.. the air was sweet with the scent of dog and horse, hay and damp grass.. what had felt all day like a dreary cold wind was now a soft, almost kind breeze.. gracefully lifting the bushy forelocks and manes of the 2 ponies .. their scent was intoxicating ... and quite interesting to Daisy, the rescued dog, The four of us shared breath.. all of our noses softly touching and exploring. It was my comfort and calm that gave Daisy the courage to explore her two new friends, mini ponies Polly and Elle more boldly. Until that divine way of being, breathing body mind and soul HERE, there was no indication that this would be a day that might offer something food for my soul and calm for my heart.. but there it was! All the elements I so love and depend on in life... . nothing else mattered we were all fully present enjoying the peace and beauty of nature. we were all settled into this beautiful calm contentment... My heart rate slowed and my breath deepened meant with Daisy she felt free and curious to sweetly and gently explore the tiny muzzles of those 2 ponies who were so interested in her!
