Duncan has not had a fair shake in life.. hes a really sweet typical Border Collie.. smart, focused and very communicative.. about 4 years ago he was given to us by his first owner whose life circumstances changed and he was unable to keep a dog.. During his time here Duncan was as happy and playful as you'd expect a young herding dog to be.. His favorite game ... FETCH!! He will deliver the ball back to you and if you want it a bit closer than where he has placed it .. pretty much give him the look and he will get the ball and drop it closer!
So sadly Duncan was just returned to us after living with his adoptive family for 4 years. His beautiful coat was for reasons we don't understand shaved down.. so he looks a little goofy but he is still that sweetie-pie Duncan.. At first he was really happy to see us and enjoyed all the attention.. he seemed to be adjusting surprisingly well.. however as time has passed, poor Duncan is showing signs of stress ... He's sensitive and the environment here has a lot of activity and can be loud at times... He recovers quickly.. in fact, once he sees us and knows hes going out for walk or games and loving he is the happiest dog EVER!! Its just he is not accustomed to living in a kennel at this point.. he is probably wondering what happened!
Update: Slowly, Duncan is learning to cope with life in a kennel, something he is very much NOT used to. He is getting a lot of time out walking, learning new tricks, fetching, playing with other dogs... slowly we have noticed more and more time Duncan is relaxing in the front of his space or on his bed. This boy is SMART. He is young at heart, energetic and loves to "work" aka fetch and do tricks for the BALL or the FRISBEE! He will always drop the ball right at your feet and slowly back away.. eyes focused on the ball while he awaits you to pick it up. Holding the ball, he will keep his eyes on you, if you say "around", Duncan will swiftly run towards you and around your back then sprit out in front as you toss the ball for him! It's super fun! Jamie has been working with Duncan on another new trick called 'through' where he will weave through your legs as you walk! It's super fun! Check out his video below!
We'd love to find him a place he can call home for the rest of his life!! We would happily do a permanent foster..
