Finney, a cool mix of Aussie and Border Collie and has this luscious light brown merle coat. His eyes are wide and miles deep with so many layers to peel back.. which makes him SO MUCH FUN to work with! The wheels in his head are constantly turning and he learns from each situation he finds himself in. Finney is a sensitive dog.. he picks up on all types of movements and sounds that most other dogs overlook. This sensitivity makes Mr. Finney very attuned to his surroundings but it also makes him very bonded and loyal to his people. It doesn't take long to become one of Finney's trusted human friends... a few positive interactions with a new person and he will show his true super wiggly self!!
As Kelly explains, when Finney sees someone he knows and loves, he gives the best greeting!.. tail wagging so hard it may tip him over, paws flopping as he gallops towards you, tongue lolling out of his mouth with the HAPPIEST grin painted on. He really makes you feel special <3 For someone he doesn't quite know yet, Finney will keep his distance, maybe even slink to hide behind his trusted person. Sometimes he'll let out a bark or two to make sure the person knows he's not fully comfy with them in his space bubble yet. He will need a few visits to get to know any potential adopter to gain the trust needed to see his true, amazing personality!
Handsome and quirky Finney is one super awesome doggie!! He originally was brought up to the SPCA from South Carolina when he was a wee young pup and after spending some time in the shelter, the SPCA staff love him so much but realized that Finney would grow more self confidence in a quieter and more predictable environment. Since our rescue is located on a private horse farm, it was a perfect match!
Finney learning how to "down"! What a smarty boy!
Sweet baby boy Finney. That is what comes to mind when thinking of this super special boy! Finney can be shy with new people and can take time to warm up to new friends. However, once you both put in the work, the relationship and friendship you build is infinitely worthwhile. Finney loves the people he sees as his friends and always greets them with a big, gentle hug.
We recommend Finney go to a home with children aged 10 and up.
