Frisbee!
Cheerful, playful, cute, canine-socially awkward, short legged magnificent Aussie mix / male / 45 lbs
Frisbee!!! Hes a happy active boy who enjoys playtime with his person.. walks, hikes, exploring and silliness! Frisbee is such a unique mix of breeds.. His pale blue eye and long coat of patterned patches says Aussie.. the legs, short.. somehow too short to make great sense given the look of the rest of him!! LOL! Either way he is adorable! Frisbee is a dog who has demonstrated a desire to be a companion.. he's happy to go off for a hike and equally happy to sit by your side .. literally.. he likes to be close.. and enjoy gazing off into nature, taking in the scents and sights!
Frisbee was adopted out a few years ago.. and recently his adopter informed us that she could no longer keep him. When she brought him back she mentioned she knew 2 weeks after adopting him that they weren't going to "bond"... We encourage all adopters to keep us informed of such things so we can make positive changes that will suit dog and adopter! Anyway here he is with us at the farm.. adjusting to a new life which so far he seems to enjoy!
A few of us have a hard time not taking Frisbee wherever we go.. he's a fun companion!
We are going to give this cute short legged handsome boy a bit of time to settle in and help us understand just what kind of home he'd like! Stay tuned for updates!!
Update: What is not to love about Frisbee?? He is such a fabulous little buddy. Wherever you go, Frisbee will be ready to go with you! He loves all types of outdoor and indoor activities.. agility, “offleash” time on the long line, visits to his horse and cat friends. Yes you read that right... Frisbee just loves horses and cats! He’ll let the horses swoop their big heads down and inspect him
and he’ll joyfully share space with them.
As stated above, Friz was returned after a few years. In his previous home, it seems there wasn’t clear communcation and understanding of Frisbee’s needs. Friz will absolutely thrive in a home with a knowledge adult family that can give him attention and structure he so deserves! Frisbee has a wonderful obedience background and almost never pulls on the leash. He knows sit, down, stay, go home... such a smart and witty little guy!
We were told in his previous home Friz was purely dog aggressive. After seeing his behavior around some of our other dogs at the rescue I just didn’t fully buy that! I had to explore deeper... low and behold, he has become great friends with sweetie pie Lyla after a few bonding paired walks. Frisbee seems to lack some dog-dog communication skills and by playing with Lyla he is learning how to actually play with another dog! It is a very cool experience to watch him grow and learn! While it is true that, at the moment, a nice slow introduction to a compatible dog will be the most successful for him, I have no doubt that Friz will continue to learn how “speak dog” better and better every day!
If you want to meet Frisbee, shoot us an email! You will fall in love guaranteed!
