What a wonderful and joyful spirit that emits from handsome Guy... he is a very easy going dog. Not much ruffles his feathers and it doesn't take much to please him. He's very content..with almost everything! Long walks with a new volunteer, relaxing out in the yard with a handler, playgroups with new dog friends or a hike in the woods.. Guy definitely loves and needs the company of human companions and with that, he's a happy camper!
Guy is extremely polite to both human and dogs with superb dog-dog communication skills! When greeting someone new, Guy is happy to meet a new friend but not hyper or over excited. He's not the type to jump all over you which we totally appreciate! Like a typical hound doggie, Guy has a deep and long bark. Which is actually called a bay! He doesn't bark too often or unnecessarily but it's certainly there!
One of Guy's favorite activities is to go for a walk on the long line. He loves to walk along side his person while he surveys the tree line for squirrels and birds. Perhaps he was bred as a hunting dog? He doesn't have a major high energy of a hunting dog but he will point and flush animals up trees. Not obsessively though, just recreationally! He really is such a fabulous, fun dog.
Sadly, Guy was recently returned to us. Given that he's such an easy dude, we were surprised to hear his home wasn't working out. However, we are firm believers that good things can come from most situations and we are super happy to have him back with us until he finds his new permanent home.. and i certainly can say the same for Guy! He's settling in from the change but is seemingly enjoying his time here and he's lapping all of the attention he's getting!
