Harriet is one of our special dogs.. she is a Disney looking dog, all fluffy, fuzzy and adorable with that one spot on her eye and the smattering of spots and dots on her ear and various other places. She is very loving, playful and crazy about playing fetch. She brings the ball back every time and plunks it by your feet! She'll sit and wait and give you killer cute facial expressions while you hold the ball.

Harriet LOVES all her dog pals, in fact we use her to be the new friend to some of our recent arrivals (or long term residents like Browney) who might be a little reserved or unsure and need a happy playful friend to coax them out of their shell. Harriet is so adorable as she prances around wagging and soft until she convinces them to forget about their concerns and bust a move into happyland! She has more friends ( of all shapes and sizes) than pretty much any dog in our care!

Harriet's got a case of "stranger danger" and as such needs extra time to make new human friends.. initially she was afraid of every new face that appeared but now shes a lot more relaxed and though she will always be a bit suspicious at the start Harriet has learned with the right handling and direction to chill and read each person before assuming anything!
Its hard to imagine her as anything but the happy and affectionate dog we know her to be but she will require a home that has some experience and or a true desire to learn how to help and insecure dog feel safe when meeting and greeting new people.

We think Harriet would be best suited to a home without young children because of her fear of new people.. She will be happiest in a home that understands her and can keep her feeling safe and secure!

She's quirky, hilarious and so genuine. Harriet needs an owner is going to to look passed her initial greeting and see her true nature. Someone who is going to understand that not all dogs have had a good start in life and those dogs deserve a chance at Happily Ever After too.
