Our Love Dogs Mission

   For the LOVE of DOGS Rescue was founded to rescue often overlooked dogs, the Mama dogs, older dogs, dogs with health issues, shy and fearful and defensive dogs and even funny looking dogs & any that had fewer people noticing them! The great majority of those dogs were easily adopted into wonderful, loving homes after receiving all the extra time and help they needed to become themselves. Our greatest joy!

   Having rescued 1000's of dogs over the years we have a group of what we call our "HOMIES" these dogs have become our dogs. Some stay due to complicated health issues, others because they have acclimated so well to life here and are wonderfully content still others due to their response to outside stimuli making them less adaptable to family life. Each one of our homies feels at home with us. They are relaxed, feel safe and completely trust everyone caring for them. We've determined it would neither be fair nor wise to ask them to start from scratch to rebuild the deeply trusting bonds of friendship they formed here in a new home.

   Our love for and commitment to our HOMIES has shaped what we are at present. You can see we have a much smaller group of adoptable dogs than we have had and rather than continue to pull dogs from shelters to our rescue we are now sponsoring a significant increase in the dogs we sponsor for SPCA of WESTCHESTER!

   We want to know what what ALL our dogs enjoy, what they fear & what fulfills them as individuals. We seek partnership in  our relationships with them where we are trusted friends and guardians! Our dogs experience what we call the " bubble".. much like a parent, we provide an energetically defined space that dependably delivers & receives a balanced mix of free choice and boundaries, consistently clear communication, full engagement and ultimately, a lovely bond of trust! There's a wonderful and incredibly rewarding result that enables our dogs to heal, shake off their sad histories and bloom into delightful canine companions!! We are fortunate to attract seriously devoted dog handlers, deeply committed to investing themselves to our cause, have nothing to prove and everything to give!

Samson is an incredibly sweet boy who adores walks, exploring new places with his keen sense of smell, and playing in the yard with his toys alongside his canine companions. It might take him a minute to get comfortable with you, but once he does, the fun never ends!
Everyone who meets Samson immediately falls in love with him. On walks he strolls happily beside you, stopping only for gentle cuddles and pets.

Samson is in GREAT health, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines; he currently weighs 70 lbs but may continue to grow. Samson would do best in a quiet, loving household that likes to exercise and is willing to continue training. He would prefer a home without children under 13 years.
