LOVE DOGS
Difference
At Love Dogs we lead with an open mind, always. No matter what, each dog that we take responsibility for gets in-depth, individualized attention: medical, wellness, behavioral training, enrichment, fun and tons of LOVE & affection!!! We enjoy having the time to really get to know each animal in our care and build the best life we can based on their common canine needs and their individual needs and preferences.
We don’t ever give up.
Our goal is simple: Give each dog a voice that sets them on the most successful path and educate the public to do the same.

Recent RescuesA SAD FAREWELL TO OUR SPECIAL BOY
Tommy Joe, TJ, TeejTwo of a group of Dogs we rescued in TJ's honor
Both strays, Jo was in better shape than poor little Tommie who was found wondering on a road. Clearly he'd been out on his own for some time!! They are now getting all the TLC they deserve and will come to us after getting medical care! They are both lap lovers, as was our TJ!
Dogs we sponsored in honor of our T.J.

Whats Breed got to do with it?PLENTY! We all feel attraction to certain dogs.. the look of them, their smile, gaze, cute puppy face, maybe they look like the dog we loved and lost... So many elements come into play when we choose a dog or in some cases, they choose us. My biggest and most heart wrenching relationship was with the magnificent Great Pyr, Snowman. When I rescued him I had no knowledge about his breed. He arrived to us at the farm a young and very sweet, gentle giant. Full story coming! Part of the magic here has to do with the integrity of our mission. Our combined efforts to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home animals stem from a foundation of respect, kindness, clear intention and a humble desire to learn from every animal in our care.
Our rescue is located on the grounds of a serene and magnificent, private horse farm in Westchester County NY. Not only does the farm provide a sanctuary for homeless dogs it also provides sanctuary for special equines in need. As with our dogs the ponies and horses are given all they need to go to live happy and fulfilling lives. Some become "homies" at the farm.. many others are adopted to loving homes!
PIP..
What do we do for a pony who arrived terrified of human contact, including eye contact! Space. Options. Choices. We ask.. we listen. Pip tells us everything! We provide a consistently friendly, consistently calm and consistently interesting environment for him to explore at will. His will! We invite but don't pressure. Kristin has had blast investing her time heart and mind in this curious little guy and we are in the process of creating a special page to tell Pips story and what we and he have learned and loved in our time together!
