Innocent and peppy with an incredibly unique look, Janet has completely captured our hearts from the moment she stepped off the transport van last week. She has a super soft fawn coat, these wild pointy ears and an adorable chubby muzzle face shape! Her face almost resembles a Boston terrier or something!
Janet has a thoughtful, curious way about her. You’ll notice she is always very aware of her surroundings and of her body. Janet walks with grace, each step purposeful and soft as she moves about her day. She is extremely observant and super intelligent! |

Janet walks SO WELL on the leash! She never ever pulls and is basically your shadow. She will follow in your footstep while keeping her eyes gazed up to yours. Janet is a very connected girl and loves to be near. When out in the yards with her doggie friends, she’ll surely venture out to play and romp but will always come back around to check in with us. Often jumping in our lap or politely sitting next to us waiting for some reassurance. Once she gets it, she’ll be off to play again!
Janet can be a bit reserved upon first meet and, like her brother (?) Jack, she really enjoys sharing space with new people without being overwhelmed with forward attention from humans. It doesn’t take a whole lot to gain trust with Janet.. simply you settling back, being quiet and creating an inviting space will help her feel comfortable to approach and feel safe with you. After being here for a few days Janet developed sweet, trusting relationships with most of the handlers! It's a wonderful thing to watch her blossom and come out of her shell in such a way! She greets us with circular tail wags, toe tip-taps and gentle face kisses. She will often climb into our laps for some extra closeness, too!
Janet originally came from a neglect situation along with Chrissy and Jack. They were found abandoned in a mobile home for weeks after their “owners” moved and didn’t take them along. This certainly contributed to her initial cautious nature with new people and environments.
Janet gets along very well with most other dogs. She especially has great relationships with playful, easy going medium to small type dogs. She enjoys spending time with Jack, Chrissy, Cora and all the wee little chis!
