Leisel.. a gorgeous sable purebred German shepherd found wandering the streets with two other purebred shepherds.. We have no idea where these gals came from originally but they were clearly used for breeding purposes and Leisel was about 15 lbs under weight. Possibly dumped in the street? Either way, they are here and they are absolutely WONDERFUL!

This gal is a perfect example of a balanced German Shepherd with quintessential shepherd traits to go along with her friendly nature. Leisel is eager and so in tune with us. She naturally walks well on the leash, hardly ever pulling ahead and she is constantly checking in with the person walking her. In the yard, she leaps and bounds with her long, thin shepherd body following closely behind her person wherever they go.
When we say "quintessential shepherd traits" we mean that Leisel is quite active, sensitive and definitely has some shepherd boundary testing qualities in there! When she gets excited, she will get a bit mouthy with us.. in her eyes it is all in good fun but it can get overwhelming to someone to have a large shepherd grabbing the leash or your boot! Don't worry though, she doesn't have a mean bone in her body and is already learning to displace her "games" elsewhere.. like onto a toy, instead of our boot!
So far we have seen her be outgoing and friendly with new people.. when someone passes by while we are on a walk, she will check them out and gladly greet this new friend by swooping and leaning against their legs. SWEET!
We have seen Leisel be pretty good with other doggies. She can be a bit overzealous at times but we are sure to match her with dogs that can handle her shepherd, herding type play style. We are looking for a shepherd savvy (or someone who is open and willing to learn about the shepherd breed with our trainer) home without young children, cats or small dogs for Leisel. She is an absolute GEM of a doggie and whoever is lucky enough to adopt her will be guaranteed a loyal and connected companion! <3
