The Love Dogs Medical Wing

The issue of FAT

We who LOVE DOGS need to talk about how and what we feed our dogs.
Over fed, overweight dogs have seriously elevated health risks. Food is not love. Treats do not fulfill a dogs needs.
Photos above show Zoey who in 2 years time nearly doubled in size. You can clearly see large fat pads on her small frame as she starts her program to lose weight and gain health!
Below are photos of Zoey in good health and good weight. This is a very serious issue that all dog lovers must understand.
We at Love Dogs are going to focus on and share all we know on this crucial health topic so our beloved companions can truly depend on their human care givers to make the right choices for them.

Gigi's Eye Emergency

Our sweet little Gigi, who has very little vision in her left eye to begin with, got a pretty severe eye injury a few days ago! Luckily, one of our dedicated and awesome volunteers Kelly, was able to bring Gigi to the emergency vet and stayed with her the entire long afternoon. Turns out, Gigi has a massive scratch on her cornea.. poor girl!!

She has been recovering exceptionally well will her healing drops and pain meds. Gigi is on the mend and taking it all in stride! She is so tolerant of all the drops we have to put her in her eye!

Please send Gigi some healing vibes and a huge THANK YOU to volunteer Kelly!!!!
