The Love Dogs Team
For over 11 years Jamie has been working with dogs and their owners all over Westchester County to help create a peaceful environment for the whole family. She is the Manager and Trainer here at Love Dogs and runs all of the day to day and large picture operations including training and enrichment programs for handlers and dogs, safety protocols, adoptions and in-home support post adoption.
Jamie is dedicated to helping dogs and their people build relationships based on trust and understanding. Jamie believes in strong, positive leadership roles within the family. She has a calm energy when working with dogs, but comfortable and "family" like feel when working with her clients and adoptees. Having experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes and quirks, she is very relatable and understanding. Her methods are wide verse and vary from dog to dog. Not every dog learns, thinks or feels the same so by sticking with one training method across the board you can actually do more harm then good. All of Jamie's different methods consist of positive reinforcement, boundaries and a deep understanding of canine behavior and psychology.
Jamie's main focus is working with rescue dogs, private in home training and helping to place shelter dogs with veterans with Pet for Vets ROAR Chapter as well as being a new mom to her baby boy Keaton and dogs Sage, Cali and Mollie with Munchkin the kitty! We are so happy to have dog trainer Jamie as manager and dog trainer at For the Love of Dogs!
Michelle is the reason everything here at Love Dogs runs smoothly! She is our Administrative Coordinator Extraordinaire! From handling all of the front line communications to fosters, adopters and our veterinarians, Michelle also oversees the medical and wellness programs for all of the dogs as well as behind the scenes paperwork necessary for all things Love Dogs! Michelle has a dedication to the job that is purely astounding. She sees each dog as an individual and will treat them as such. Michelle is kind, caring and opens her heart to every person and dog that comes through Love Dogs. We don't know what we would do without our dear Michelle!
At home, Michelle is a hands on wife and mother of three beautiful children. She also has her lovely pack consisting of Margo, Luna, Max and FLOD alum Rosie with kitties Ace, Cleo and Amalie <3
Learning how to be fully present and communicate with animals, be they horses or dogs, has been one of the greatest joys of my life. To have the power to save animals from painful, and often dire circumstances is a gift in and of itself, but to then have the know how and ability to engender trust & affection through communication with those animals is a profoundly moving experience!
The richness and depth of understanding and connection that is possible between humans & animals is limitless.. I am truly blessed.
