About Us

Picture

What makes us who we are is an unquenchable curiosity about DOGS.. all kinds of dogs.. all sizes, all sorts of mixed breeds .. all ages.. dogs with emotional and physical issues.. dogs that haven't experienced human kindness and friendship.. unsocialized dogs..  funny looking dogs.. in short ..we are into EVERYTHING DOG!

Every single one of the dogs we pull is beautiful, loving, truly wonderful with so much to give. Regardless of their size, color, or age every dog shows amazing gratitude for the second chance at life they have been given. For us, seeing dogs discover their own happiness is one of the greatest pleasures on earth!

We are committed to facilitating meaningful relationships between dogs and humans as well as teaching the language of dogs to everyone who wishes to learn! Seeing adopters and volunteers have light bulb moments as they understand the messages their new canine friend is sending them is a huge reward for us!
We generally categorize our dogs into three groups:
  Short term

these dogs are relatively uncomplicated. They have a simpler adoption process sometimes due to their look, sometimes due to their more easy going temperaments age and health.

  Long term

these dogs have been with us for a little while longer. They may have some minor behavior quirks or sensitivities. Their adoption process may take multiple visits to learn more about the dog and build trust for a successful adoption.
   Sanctuary dogs..
affectionately know as our
“Homies” - these dogs permanently reside at the rescue. They may have more serious behavior issues that either make them unsafe for public adoption or we have decided they will be most successful and happy staying in our program.

Here at Love Dogs we lead with an open mind, always. No matter what, each dog that we take responsibility for gets the same amount of in depth, individualized attention.. medical, wellness, behavioral training and enrichment. We don’t ever give up. Our goal is simple.. give each dog a voice that sets them on the most successful path and educate the public to do the same.

Our Mission
The primary focus here at Love Dogs is to do our absolute best for each and every one of our dogs, every day. From basic care to enrichment programs to training to simple play time & affection, our staff devotes time and attention to each one of our dogs so that we can help them on their journey of becoming their truest selves, then helping them finding their FOREVER LOViNG HOME.

Our goal
is to find a great fit for each of our rescues and their new forever families. While every dog deserves a home, we believe that by taking extra time getting to know our dogs & our wonderful potential adoptive families we can help make compatible, loving, and deep connections that will positively impact each of us for a lifetime.
The language and beauty of DOGS is our passion
One of the most important elements of our mission is to educate ourselves about everything DOG and to share what we've learned with the people we meet. We are committed to showing people what's true and so incredibly wonderful about DOGS. Sadly, there are pervasive & unfortunate myths in our culture that are destructive to the human/canine bond. It's our mission to help people learn to understand how dogs communicate, what they like and dislike, and how we can connect with them in ways that will enrich all of our lives as well as keep everyone safe!
