Samson is a lean, graceful and at times, hilariously GOOFY young boy! He is a sight to behold and has a surprising blend of favorite things.. He is a trailblazing nature lover who is calmly focused when out on the farm or into the woods tracking scent trails.. He likes to check in with his handler as he trundles along by offering up one of his open mouth smiles with soft twinkling eyes.. he has a heart melting love gaze!
Samson can entertain himself for hours out in the yards along with his mates or on his own, tossing toys up in the air, chasing after them & leaping up and pouncing on them! He is a dog who thoroughly enjoys companionship. For Samson that could mean sharing a very interactive, often hilarious time or a chillin out, getting some love, super relaxed hang out. Samson is a crazy smart, easily engaged & a wonderfully charming entertainer! (WE will soon post some delightful videos of him playing his games including one that involves a frozen Kong, a sofa and a fluffy blanket!
Sam enjoys a smooth glide into the grass for some wiggly hip swinging rolls.. He catches a buzz that send him off on a spin of Sammy-style zoomies! He developed a fascination with birds.. we have many here. For a time he spent his outings looking up rather than cruising along following his nose! Hawks, crows, geese ... he couldn't get enough! At times he gets a bit excited at the sight of a giant gaggle of honking geese.. he considers a chase but reads his handler to know if that idea is a yah or a nah uh!! Oh such a great boy he is!!
Watching him make his way through the aisleways in between our sweeping paddocks one can't help but swoon! He almost floats on air at times... He has a sweet disposition and a true zest for life and is up for pretty much any adventure!
Sam is a lighthearted, playful guy who has a fan club of dogs (pretty much all of them here!) who absolutely delight at the sight of him! Some fans are into joining him for pack walks, others enjoy a side by side experience in the play yards, running along the fence line with him and others can't get enough of SAMSON BEING SAMSON! They hang back as a spectator captivated by the whole Samson movie!!! Then there are still others who are full on play mates with Sam & they play chase games, mouth wrestle, splash around in the pools together and leap about in and under the hose, share the water bucket and lounge together for rest period in the sun!!
Basically, Samson has nothing to prove. He wants to enjoy life every single day! He arrived to us with some insecurities and needed a bit of time to get his bearings. Sammy had to learn through experience that no one here would ever ask more of him than he was able to offer and/or enjoy at the time.
While we do get our dogs off site now and then to expand their experience of the world such as encountering new people, most of our time spent with our dogs are here at the farm... a uniquely peaceful and predictable environment with a gazillion seriously cool and amazingly varied experiences to have. For Samson, as with most dogs, a transition period and gentle introduction to new experiences provides countless confirmations that life is good and 'birds of his feather area abundant! He is a wonderful, young dog who will absolutely continue to build confidence as long as he is with people who only expose him to unusual and/or very new stuff that he at the time is up for!
Our magnificent Samson is a very special dog, one we will all find very hard to wave goodbye to as he goes off to his perfect forever home!! Truth be told we all in our hearts want that forever home to be ours!!
Samson is in great health, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Samson would do best in a country home where he can count on sharing long loose leash daily walks .. tracking scents and exploring new areas.. Oh and another thing (we all LOVE) .. He is a "leaner" :) one of his charming ways of showing affection and sharing love!
