yellow lab | 51 lbs | 3-4 y old | female

Gemmie is a beautiful, joyful, smiley-faced & energetic girl who wants more than anything to belong! She is most at ease when shes with her human peeps and a part of activities! We get the feeling that she doesn't feel she can fully express enough gratitude and pleasure for sharing time, affection and fun with her friends.
Gems lacks in doggie social skills (most likely because she was deprived of socializing with others when she was a puppy)She has a tendency to get over stimulated when around other dogs.. unable to read and respond appropriately to common canine signals therefore we believe she'd be easier and have an easier time being the only dog in her home.
Gem is one of those "I need a job" dogs... she likes to know what her place is & is not one who will tolerate being left alone for long periods of time.. she is most definitely a companion dog... Her ideal person would be an active and focused human friend, someone truly interested in engaging with her & someone with decent DOG-TALK skills. Thats the ideal for her to relax & fully blossom into the sparkling GEM that she is and the Gemmie we see every day!

Gemmie walks beautifully on the leash and is the definition of a loyal dog. When with her handler, she is 100% attentive to that person. She is so eager to please and greets with every person she meets here at Love Dogs with her classic Gemmie smile, waggy tail and happy hello. There's a great deal of beauty and happy that comes with Miss Gems!
