husky mix| 38 lbs | 10 months old | male
Little Pip is a darling young boy that arrived a bit timid of humans who approached him and reached toward him. He needed to be free to hang out and left alone to make his own style of greeting. The arrival of new canine pals changed EVERYTHING in a matter of moments! Pip watched Hazel and Bandit approaching people and getting loved on and allowed to wander off. He began to mimic their behaviors and understand that humans are here to LOVE, not scare him.
Pip went in for the treats first but soon discovered that he too could get loved on without being picked up, grabbed or hugged. He found a couple of laps he liked to plunk in in between his puppy romps.
It has been about a month since Pip arrived here and he is a completely different dog. He is no longer scared of human hands, no longer afraid to come out of his crate and he will just jump right up to greet any human, new friend or old! He is ridiculously adorable, playful and fabulous with other dogs. He is learning to be house trained and it taking that up very quickly. He lays upside down in his crate so relaxed and content.
Although Pip is becoming a more confident dog we want to keep building up his trust in humans. Something, for a dog like him with his past, that can be easily broken again. He is truly a special dog (he is staring up at me as I write this!)
