Sugar got her name because of how sugary SWEET she is! She’s about 2-4 years old and mellow but not lazy, Sugar looks like a herding dog mix but doesn’t really act like it! She loves to go for walks and hang in the yard but you’ll often find her lounging in the sun or taking a moment to pause on the walk and take in her surroundings!

Sugar is a major attention hog! If you’re within her vicinity, she IS going to nudge you for pets every time your arm takes a break. She’ll roll on her back, talk to you in adorable little howling chirps and beg for more loving! We simply cannot get enough of this lovely lady!

Sugie ended up in the shelter with extreme damage to her right hind leg. She dragged that leg along creating open cuts on the bent toes. We believe she may have been hit by a car and her sciatic nerve was caught up in her shattered hip. With veterinary guidance we all agreed it was best to remove the leg and the unbearable pain went with it. Sugar is completely healed up and slowly getting into shape to be able to bear her weight with more ease.

Sugar gets along well with calm dogs that won’t bounce on her. She does really well keeping up with only three legs but she does need some time to rest her muscles. Stairs are tough for her as well so a home without a large staircase would be best. She walks up a ramp really well to get in and out of the car! Sugar should go to a home with children aged 12 and up.
