There are beautiful, sweet dogs that sadly end up in shelters at a point in their lives when they are most in need of comfort and love! What began for LOVE DOGS as a special Christmas gift many years ago has developed into a larger year round effort to provide for as many older dogs as we can. We have been awed by the kind and generous adopters that have stepped up to provide forever homes to these dear, deserving DOGGIES! Below see comments and photos from some of our Grey Muzzle Adopters and their beautiful canine companions!
* Permanent Foster --- for adopters with inability to afford heath care. Love Dogs continues financial responsibility for health care.
* Foster to Adopt --- for adopters who wish to adopt dogs who are receiving treatment for a health issue believed to resolve. Once treatment is finished adoption finalizes
* Continuous care --- Love Dogs medical staff continues to guide and advise, arrange for medical support and follows up with adopter

Other arrangements can be made on a case by case basis. Our goal is to place as many older dogs into loving, forever homes and help adopters to provide necessary care. Team work makes this possible!

Alvin & Chip
"This was my first time fostering rescue dogs, CHIP about 4 years old and ALVIN, a senior about 10 years old. I fostered to adopt them while they were going through treatments for heart worm. I fell in love with these two!! Once we bonded I knew they were mine!! They both have very different personalities, but give as much love as they receive!!
My experience with everyone at "For the LOVE of DOGS Rescue" was wonderful!! I love all the people I have met, Jamie and Sharon especially, since they were the two people I saw the most. I love the process and that they care about the dogs and make sure they go to a loving home that is prepared to handle their special needs.
I highly recommend to anyone looking for a dog to go to this rescue and adopt a senior dog. They have so much love and are eagerly waiting for a forever home!! "

We understand that an older dog might have developed some health issues that can be expensive and confusing to manage. We do our best to assist and provide support in every way possible.
