Zelda.. sweet sweet sweet as can be! Darling Zelda is the perfect little herding dog package. Smart as a whip, agile and super curious. Like a true herding dog, Zelda came off the transport van slow and cautious.. she was sure not to over step any bounds. Delicate on the leash, Zelda looked around taking in all the moving sights happening around her. I (trainer Jamie) was instantly captivated by this sweet girl. I couldn’t wait to get to know her, the way her soulful eyes looked up at me.. she was looking for connection and we were ready to give it to her!
After a nice long pack walk with some new doggy friends and a much needed nap, Zelda’s true loving nature blossomed! I knelt down and opened her crate. She stepped out, came right up and sat directly in front of me. She put her nose right to mine, sniffed a bit then gave me a few gentle kisses and that was it! I had gained Zelda’s trust!
From what we’ve seen, caution still catches up to Zelda every once in a while but she is always ready for the next adventure! At times she may even “ruff” at a new person approaching. Once she realizes they are friendly, she will wiggle and wag right into their heart.. all is good! One of Zelda’s favorite activities is playing with her dog friends although she completely out runs the other dogs every time! She is very light on her feet and has such precise body movements and control. It is a sight to be seen!
Zelda is super playful and loving and she actually loves to be picked up by her trusting people! As you can see in some of her photos! She is just pure joy!
